Why Grace Cook?

Welcome to Grace Cook Primary School & Nursery, a vibrant and inspiring learning community located in Chilton Leys, Stowmarket. Opened in September 2022, our school is named in honour of Alice Grace Cook—the pioneering astronomer born here in Stowmarket—whose spirit of curiosity and discovery reflects our ethos and aspirations.

As part of the Orwell Multi-Academy Trust, we provide a nurturing environment for children aged 2 to 11. With our nursery and reception classes offering an Outstanding start in early years provision, and a Good rating across education quality, behaviour, personal development, and leadership, we ensure every child has the support to dream, believe, achieve

Our modern, purpose-built facilities include eight spacious classrooms, stimulating outdoor play areas, a multi-use sports pitch and ball court, and secure bike shelters to encourage active travel

Ofsted praised our nursery and reception for offering an excellent, stimulating curriculum that emphasises early language, vocabulary, independence, and confidence.

Our curriculum is designed to challenge and engage pupils, particularly in English and mathematics, with clear progression and high expectations. Pupils develop strong foundations for future learning.
