Friday 8th July

Mr Dedicoat the Head Teacher, writes...

Dear Parents and Carers,

It's been another busy week with glorious weather and plenty of sport to enjoy. Those of you who have children already at school have probably been experiencing Sports days for the first time, I hope it's been a positive experience.

On Monday 4th we held our virtual Parents meeting (A copy of the slide show is on the website)

Below are some of the questions that were asked:

Will there be wrap around care in September? Yes, we will be offering a Breakfast club from 7.45 - 8.30 and after school club 3.30 - 6.00pm.

Will Physical activity be part of the curriculum? We will be offering a full PE curriculum as well as opportunities to learn outside. This will include Forest School and regular other physical challenges.

How many children are expected to be in each class in September? Currently (Although this is likely to change) we have 11 children in Reception and 10 in the Year 1/2 class.

What are the plans beyond Year 2? In September 2023 we aim to open up a Keystage 2 class - Year 3 and beyond should the demand be there.

Will there be other transition days or events before the children start in September if we are unable to make Friday 15th July? We are hoping to have a community day in the summer but currently aren't planning another day for transition due to the site needing to be completed.

Have you recruited any Teaching Assistants? Will there be a TA in Reception? Yes to both questions!

Please can you confirm the office email? office@gracecook.omat.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 15th July for the Transition event 9.30 - 11.00

Enjoy the sunshine

Richard Dedicoat - Headteacher
