Governors' Information and Duties

As the school opened in September 2022, there is currently a transition local governing board in place.

This consists of :

Richard Dedicoat - Headteacher

Jo Stanley - Bell - Chair of Governors (Safeguarding Governor)

Anna Hennell James - CEO of Orwell Multi Academy Trust

Kate Thomas - Clerk to the Governors

We have recently appointed two parent Governors who are awaiting OMAT Board Approval and in the process of appointing two additional local governors to challenge and support the school.

Role of the Governing Body:

The Governing Body meets every term at a formal minuted meeting. Their key role is:

  • To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
  • To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
  • To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Governors visit the school regularly to monitor school progress against planned actions on the School Development Plan, as well as to check safeguarding and the budget.
